Bottomline’s QuickRecord Deficiency Management (QRDM) module helps
physicians to quickly and securely complete patient charts resulting in improved workflow, decreased accounts-receivable days, increased Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) compliance levels and cost savings due to a significant reduction in printed forms.
QRDM enables physicians to:
- Electronically sign and/or edit documents from a convenient Web portal

Bottomlines’s QRDM automatically inserts document deficiencies into a patient’s chart through electronic feeds and real-time batch-scanning processes. Delinquency aging parameters are configurable at the enterprise-level, allowing you to establish aging timeframes according to medical staff bylaws. QRDM adds additional value by reducing DNFB days due to rapid chart completion, resolving deficiencies faster than with manual processes, and increasing physician and employee satisfaction.
QRDM enables a proven, streamlined process for electronic health record coordination and signing of charts. The solution is set up to allow parallel processing of information, which is simultaneously routed via the work queue. QRDM establishes work queues for analysts to examine individual charts for deficiencies and/or delinquencies, including:
- Missing text – A transcription may have large blank areas due to unintelligible or garbled speech;
- Missing document – A required document (e.g. surgeon’s op note or progress note) is not in the chart; and
- Missing signature – The provider(s) of care have not signed the document.
The analyst can mark each of these documents in the chart, route them to the appropriate individuals for action and alert the physician to the problem — all from the convenience of their desktop. This feature is linked to the QuickSign® interface, so the physician will know the exact status of documents in the queue. QRDM reports include:
- Summary views of activity by analyst and by supervisor;
- Deficiency reports grouped by physician; and
- Production reports detailing how many charts are completed by any analyst within a given period.
