Bottomline Customer Wins Technology & Business Award from START-IT Magazine
Document Process Automation Suite Helps Gildan Activewear Address Global Challenges
PORTSMOUTH, NH and SAN FRANCISCO, CA – October 23, 2006 –
Bottomline Technologies (NASDAQ: EPAY), a leading provider of payments and invoice automation software and services, today at Oracle OpenWorld 2006 announced that the company's customer, Gildan Activewear, has been recognized as one of START-IT magazine's Technology & Business Award winners for 2006.
Presented annually and judged by a panel of independent industry analysts, the Technology & Business Awards honor manufacturing organizations that have solved critical business issues through the implementation of technology solutions. A manufacturer of premium quality branded apparel, Gildan Activewear was recognized for its use of Bottomline's Create!form® product suite to streamline the composition and delivery of core business documents such as invoices and purchase orders to customers, suppliers and other corporate locations.
Prior to deploying Bottomline's solution, Gildan utilized more than 60 different paper forms and 27 accounts payable check formats across its business, some of which were maintained on pre-printed stock to accommodate multiple languages. With Bottomline, the company was able to transition from paper-based forms in favor of more efficient and cost-effective electronic documents. The introduction of an electronic document archive has also helped Gildan enhance customer service with new online tools for document search and retrieval.
"At Bottomline, we take great pride in our ability to leverage our solution set and domain expertise to help customers successfully navigate complex business challenges," said Rick Bell, Vice President and General Manager, Bottomline Technologies. "This is an exciting example of how our technology can create business value within the manufacturing industry and we're delighted that START-IT has chosen to recognize Gildan."
