Europe’s Carphone Warehouse Selects Bottomline Solution to Automate Service Contracts and Invoice Processes

PORTSMOUTH, NH – September 12, 2007 – Bottomline Technologies (NASDAQ: EPAY), a leading provider of collaborative payment and invoice automation solutions, today announced that The Carphone Warehouse has expanded its implementation of Bottomline’s document process automation solution. This additional purchase will enable the company to streamline the composition and distribution of transactional documents including contracts and invoices across its retail locations. Europe’s leading independent retailer of mobile phones and services, The Carphone Warehouse operates more than 3,000 stores in 10 countries.

“The flexibility and ease-of-use inherent in Bottomline’s solution has enabled our organization to significantly reduce the time required to generate customer-facing transactional documents, particularly our service contracts and invoices. By expanding our use of the solution, we will be able to provide a better customer experience and empower local markets to take ownership of their document templates,” said Jack Mochyla, Project Manager of The Carphone Warehouse. “Our initial experience with the solution only reinforced our belief that Bottomline is the right technology partner to help us deliver the benefits of automating these processes throughout our entire retail network."

Bottomline’s award-winning document process automation solution allows organizations to improve the efficiency of business processes that rely heavily on transactional documents. Through the composition, routing, delivery and storage of paper or electronic transactional documents, organizations can operate and interact with customers and suppliers more cost-effectively. Integrating with industry-leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, the solution allows organizations such as The Carphone Warehouse to deliver these electronic documents across multiple communication channels such as fax, email, print or the Web.

“Through our financial process automation solutions, organizations can position themselves to more readily adapt to changing business, customer and regulatory requirements,” said Chris Peck, Europe Group Sales Director, Bottomline Technologies. “The Carphone Warehouse’s decision to increase its investment in our solution is a testament to the business value and service levels we are able to deliver as an organization.”
