Global Financial Services Community Increases Adoption of Bottomline’s Payments and Cash Management Solutions

PORTSMOUTH, NH and VIENNA, AUSTRIA – September 16, 2008 – Bottomline Technologies (NASDAQ: EPAY), a leading provider of collaborative payment, invoice and document automation solutions, today at Sibos 2008 announced growing momentum for its WebSeries® Global Cash Management Platform within the banking and financial services community worldwide with significant new customers and a strategic partnership.

Since Sibos 2007, many leading banks in Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America have chosen, or expanded their use of, Bottomline’s WebSeries platform for a variety of applications to enhance straight through processing (STP) capabilities and transaction reporting for international payments, foreign exchange and wire initiation. The company has further expanded its presence within the industry by serving as the principal technology partner for SWIFT’s new Alliance Lite connectivity option, which will provide secure, Web-based access to SWIFT’s financial messaging network worldwide.
