Bottomline’s Global Cash Management Solutions Receive More Top Ratings from Industry Experts

PORTSMOUTH, NH – July 23, 2009 – Bottomline Technologies (NASDAQ: EPAY), a leading provider of collaborative payment, invoice and document automation solutions, today announced that as part of a recent evaluation of online cash management solutions, the research advisory firm Celent has identified Bottomline as a ‘payments powerhouse.’ This latest accolade follows Aite Group’s recent awarding of a best-in-class ranking to Bottomline for its global cash management capabilities.

Aite Group in its evaluation report noted that many customers “have chosen Bottomline as a result of its proven track record with large banks,” and believe the company “does a great job of building relationships.” In its final evaluation, the firm awarded Bottomline with a best-in-class ranking for its global cash management capabilities and cited its track record for consistently helping clients develop successful multi-region or global cash management strategies.

Bottomline’s WebSeries® Global Cash Management platform was a leader in the payments and transfers section of Celent’s report based on the diversity and robustness of its payments capabilities. Additionally, the platform was recognized for performance and reliability, solution attributes that Celent believes are “a must when dealing with large banks with high transaction volumes.” Celent’s assessment of Bottomline also concluded that the company is one of the few vendors in the market possessing experience and exposure internationally.

“Banks and financial institutions are actively seeking stable, proven technology partners through which they can work collaboratively to use Web-based cash management solutions to strengthen client relationships,” said Eric Campbell, Chief Technology Officer of Bottomline Technologies. “Through the ongoing introduction of new features and functionality enhancements, we’re able to provide our clients with the tools required to differentiate themselves against competitors and to capitalize on exciting opportunities domestically and in new geographies.”

To get to market quickly with a high-volume domestic and international payments capability, banks and financial institutions around the world rely on Bottomline’s award-winning WebSeries Global Cash Management platform. A single platform for managing payments and providing real-time cash management reporting, WebSeries delivers the security, reliability and rich functionality necessary to deliver the products and user experience required to strengthen customer relationships and develop new markets.
