READING, UK – February 21, 2017 – World leading drama conservatoire, London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) has selected PT-X, a cloud-based payment and business solution suite from Bottomline Technologies (NASDAQ: EPAY) to consolidate and automate its payment processes. Bottomline was chosen as the leading provider of technology solutions to help businesses pay and get paid.
PT-X will be used to consolidate the processing of LAMDA’s payments and Direct Debits into a single, integrated and compliant solution.
Established in 1861, LAMDA trains the exceptional actors, stage managers, technicians and directors of every generation, so that they can have the most extraordinary impact on the world through their work in theatre, film, television and radio. LAMDA is committed to auditioning and training the most talented students – regardless of background – across a range of short courses, diplomas and higher education degrees.
Peter Nickals, Head of Finance at LAMDA, was tasked with moving their current banking relationship to a new high street bank and with automating the collection of funds. With payments currently made by credit card, cheque or bank transfer, LAMDA needed a solution that could process Bacs and Faster Payments that would fully automate and manage the lifecycle of their Direct Debits within the Bacs scheme rules – from sign up, to amendments and cancellations.
Nickals saw this as the perfect opportunity to consolidate the different ways in which payments were being made and received across the organisation.
“Whether it’s tuition fees, affiliate payments, membership subscriptions or philanthropic donations, collecting funds can be a real challenge. The move to PT-X means that Direct Debit payments will always be received, for the arranged amount and on the agreed date. It also means less effort and more time efficiency when it comes to processing and reconciling these payments – automated Direct Debits will free up our resources and just make life easier” said Nickals.
Additionally, the shift from internet banking to a single payment and collections platform will extend LAMDA’s payment submission deadline from 3pm to 7pm, giving them an additional 4 hour window for processing if necessary.
“This is what excites us most – creating innovative technology that helps customers like LAMDA to simplify, consolidate and manage their diverse payment types more effectively” said Nigel Savory, Bottomline Technologies Managing Director EMEA and Global Business Solutions.
