Bottomline Technologies Healthcare Privacy and Data Security Solution Receives Meaningful Use Certification

Technology helps keep customers HIPAA compliant

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (November 10, 2015) – Bottomline Technologies (NASDAQ: EPAY), a leading provider of cloud-based payment, invoice and digital banking solutions, today announced that its Investigation Center for Healthcare Privacy and Data Security achieved Meaningful Use Modular Certification under the ONC HIT Certification Program, maintained by the Health and Human Services’ Office of the National Coordinator.

Bottomline’s unique, patented solution offers a non-invasive approach to monitor, replay, and analyze users across multiple systems and applications. The solution proactively deters privacy and security threats by giving healthcare providers the equivalent of a digital surveillance camera to monitor user and network activity in real time. Malicious and negligent activity can be identified regardless of the origin, including imposters posing as internal employees, intentional employee misconduct, or unintentional behavior that puts patients’ data and providers’ reputations at risk.

“Bottomline’s Privacy and Data Security solution allows healthcare organizations to be confident in their ability to protect their patient and private data and stay compliant with government standards,” stated Craig Jones, SVP and GM of Healthcare at Bottomline Technologies. “The certification of our Investigation Center will help our customers in their efforts to meet Meaningful Use auditing requirements.”

The certification granted through the ONC HIT Certification Program will meet the criteria in four key areas: 170.314(d)(1) Authentication, Access Control, and Authorization, 170.314(d)(3) Audit Reports, 170.314(d)(5) Automatic Log-Off, and 170.314(g)(4) Quality management System.

This EHR Module is 2014 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criterion adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Bottomline Technologies’ Investigation Center, version 5.1.2, certification number IG-3584-15-0057 and IG-3584-15-0058 is compliant with the ONC 2014 Edition criteria on October 8, 2015 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT ®), an ONC-ACB, in accordance with applicable Hospital certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Details of the EHR test report can be found here and the official listing can be found on the ONC website.
