What types of companies use Paymode-X?
Paymode-X serves all industries. We work primarily with medium-to-large enterprise companies with a high volume of vendor payments each month, allowing them to automate functions that are overwhelming when handled manually. In addition, we work with a wide range of ERPs and general ledgers.
How is Paymode-X related to Nexus?
Paymode-X and Nexus are both Bottomline solutions. Nexus specializes in AP automation, including both invoices and payments, for Real Estate. Paymode-X offers AP automation, including both invoices and payments, across industries.
How do I know if my vendors are in the Paymode-X network?
Because Paymode-X has one of the largest vendor networks, it's a good bet that at least 50% of your vendors already are in network and being paid by other payers using Paymode-X. So, it's just a matter of adding you as a payer and beginning to make payments.
We also handle vendor enrollment and authentication for those suppliers who are not already part of the network.
How does Paymode-X keep payments secure?
We use layers of security, including robust supplier validation and verification, to shut out fraudsters trying to access the Paymode-X network...and it works. Paymode-X processes $400 billion annually with zero successful fraud instances.

How does Paymode-X pay my vendors?
Paymode-X pays vendors using virtual card, premium ACH or check, with a focus on digital payment methods. Here are details:
Virtual card: a one-time use, secure card sent via email directly to the vendor. The vendor processes it exactly like a credit card. However, it's issued for the exact amount of the invoice being paid. Virtual cards generate rebates for the payer.
Premium ACH: these are bank-to-bank transfers between the payer and a vendor, protected by Paymode-X's fraud prevention technology. Premium ACH payments also generate a rebate for the payer.
Does Paymode-X integrate with my general ledger or ERP?
Yes, Paymode-X can integrate with any general ledger, which will remain your system of record. We can use secure integration protocols, such as APIs, or transfer files automatically.
Once set up, Paymode-X will transfer all the data you need to manage your invoices and payments in the Paymode-X portal. We do offer some integrations that allow you to work within your existing ERP, as well.
How long does it take to get up and running with Paymode-X?
Implementing Paymode-X tends to be fairly quick. While there are a few variables, including whether invoice automation, payments automation, or both are being implemented, the process can take as little as a couple of months.
Getting Paid by Paymode-X
How do I get paid by my payers through Paymode-X?
Received a call from Paymode-X? Opened an email that a customer wants you to be paid via Paymode-X? Congratulations. You're on your way to receiving secure payments from a company that prioritizes your accounts receivable.
To enroll in Paymode-X payments, you'll need to visit our Get Paid page. You'll then have to provide some basic information, including Tax Identification Number (TIN) and business address, so we can validate and enroll you.
How do I track payments made via Paymode-X?
All you have to do is log in to your account here. Your payments will be available at-a-glance in the dashboard, with the option to explore and export reports within the portal.
How do I change my payment preferences?
Simply log in to your account, navigate to the payer for which you want to change your payments preferences and update your information.
How do I process a virtual card?
Received a virtual card from Paymode-X for payment? Just process it the same way you would process a credit card.
Enter the number from your payment email into your POS and the funds will be swiftly transferred to your bank.
How does Paymode-X protect me from fraud?
We use more than 300 data points to ensure that both your payer and your business are authenticated and validated before any payments are sent.
Plus, we have layors of security that make it incredibly difficult for bad actors to impersonate your business or your payers'. That's why we process more than $400 billion in payments annually with zero fraud.
