What's happening?

Will issuing payments change in the next few months?

Yes. As part of the transition from Nexus to Bottomline, NexusConnect will be retired, and both payers and their payees will use Paymode, a leading payments solution from Bottomline.

Starting in summer 2025, payers will migrate from using NexusConnect to issue payments to using Paymode to issuepayments. After your company's migration is completed, you will use Paymode to view and approve payments.

To make this easier, the Paymode team will move your company profile, bank accounts, and users from NexusConnect to Paymode.

When will I find out my migration date?

One month before your company’s assigned migration date, you will receive an email from MigrationSupport@Bottomline.com notifying you of your turn to migrate. This email will be sent to all NexusConnect users at your company.

What notifications will I receive during the migration process?
  • One month prior: Migration date notification and next steps

  • Two weeks prior: Reminder email of key dates and action items

  • Day-of migration start: Reminder email of important cutoff dates and links to register for training and office hours

  • Day-of migration completion: Confirmation of migration completion and support resources

Does this migration affect my usage of NexusPayables?

No. Your use of NexusPayables will not be impacted. Continue to use NexusPayables to approve and process invoices before, during, and after your migration.

What should I do to prepare for the transition?

Do I need to make any changes in NexusConnect?

Potentially. At least two weeks before migration, your NexusConnect System Administrator should verify the following information and make sure it’s ready for the migration.

You can find this data in NexusConnect under settings.

  • Your company’s profile: Verify address, phone number, and other details

  • Bank accounts:

    • Deactivate any bank accounts that are no longer used and do not need to be moved to Paymode

    • Designate a bank account to receive rebates – Since Paymode sends rebates via ACH, you'll need to designate a default bank account in NexusConnect for rebate receipt. Just toggle "Default" on your preferred bank account. Post-migration, you’ll receive quarterly rebate payments in this account.

    • Note: If you already receive quarterly rebates via ACH, no action is needed.

  • Users: Deactivate any NexusConnect users who are no longer with your company or whose access should be removed.

  • Payment approval workflow: Reduce your payment approval workflow to a maximum of two approval levels.

Will there be a migration kick-off call with Bottomline?

Yes. The link to register for the kick-off call will be included in the email notifying you of your migration date.

Will there be training on how to use Paymode?

Yes. The link to register for live instructor-led training will be included in the email prior to the start of migration activities. There will be a pre-recorded version available for those that cannot attend the live session.

Will I need to reenter my banking information into Paymode?

No. Your bank account information will transfer from NexusConnect to Paymode as part of the migration process.

What happens during migration?

Will there be any downtime during the transition?

Yes. There will be a 4-day hold on processing payment files before your migration date. Any payment files received during this time will be held and processed after the migration is complete.

What about payment batches still pending approval?

During the 4-day holding period, any payment batches still pending approval will be declined in NexusConnect. You will need to void and reprocess those payments in your GL/ERP system.

What happens after migration?

Where do I approve and view payments?

Before migration, continue using NexusConnect as you do today.

After migration, you will approve and view payments in Paymode.

Will I still have access to NexusConnect?

After migration, you will have read-only access in NexusConnect for 30 days, then your account will close. Download any information that you would like to retain for your records. Historic payment data will not be moved to Paymode.

What if I need help post-migration?

The Bottomline team will host two office hour sessions dedicated to your migration cohort. The registration links can be found in the emails from MigrationSupport@Bottomline.com.

We will also schedule additional office hours where anyone with a migration-related question can join.

What training or support is available?

Will you provide training on using Paymode?

Yes. Training resources include:

  • A live, instructor-led training session prior to migration

  • A pre-recorded training video is available for those that cannot attend the live session

  • On-demand training videos and how-to documents in Paymode

Can I talk to a live person if I’m having issues during or post-migration?

Yes. The Bottomline team will host office hour sessions immediately following your migration. The registration links can be found in the emails from MigrationSupport@Bottomline.com.

In addition, we are planning general question and answer sessions for anyone with migration-related questions. Check back on this page for the schedule and registration links.

Who do I contact if I need help using Paymode?

Even after migration, you should continue to contact Nexus Buyer Support for help.
